FREMONT, CA — A student was found dead Friday morning at the California School for the Blind, the California Highway Patrol reported.
During a routine morning check, a school staff member found an unresponsive student in their dorm room.
At 7:30 a.m., deputies were asked to conduct an investigation of the dormitory at the Fremont campus. Arriving paramedics pronounced the student dead.
The CHP, along with the Alameda County Coroner's Office said they conducted a thorough investigation, with full cooperation of school staff.
"There were no obvious signs of foul play found at the scene and the investigation into the cause of death is ongoing," CHP officials said in a statement.
