Owen W. Sedlacek

Belchertown, MA — Belchertown- Owen W. Sedlacek, 19, passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2022. He was born in Springfield on November 15, 2002, the son of Robert J. and Carissa (Pisarek) Sedlacek of Belchertown, Massachusetts. Owen lived in Belchertown all of his life and attended the Belchertown Public Schools, graduating in 2021. He was an accomplished athlete for Belchertown High School, exceling at lacrosse and football. During his senior year, he led the football team as quarterback and defensive end, and was a star attack and midfield lacrosse player for the Orioles. Owen was selected to the All Western Mass Football and Lacrosse Teams for multiple years. He enjoyed playing ball, working out, and having serious talks with his close group of friends. Owen loved spending time with his family watching movies, listening to history podcasts, and walking his dogs, Sadie and Reilly. Owen was currently attending Nazareth College in Rochester, New York. He had just completed his first semester making Dean's list with a 3.7 GPA. He was pursuing a double major in political science and legal studies, and he was a member of the Nazareth lacrosse team. Owen's charm radiated through his warm smile and his kindness was apparent to all who knew him. He was a hardworking, strong, smart, and passionate young man with tremendous potential. Owen was loving and loyal to his family, friends, and dogs. His memory will forever be cherished by his parents, Bob and Carissa, along with his sister, Sarah, his maternal grandfather, Roger Pisarek, paternal grandmother, Doris Sedlacek and aunts, Michelle Bennett and her husband Bill, Jill Luly and her son Chase, great aunt Susan (Pisarek) and cousins Kyle and Brett Sedlacek and their families. Visitation will be held Monday, January 24th at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home from 3:00-7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, January 25th at St. Francis Church at 10:00 a.m. Kindly meet directly at the church.
