In the beginning of the Watertown School Board meeting last night President Tammy Rieber asked for a moment of silence in remembrance for student Linnea Allbee that has passed on Monday.

She was a 16 year old junior and passed away from illness at the Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls.

The Watertown School District sent this text message out to the parents last night:

"To: Watertown Parents and Staff: I am writing to inform you of the death of Linnea Allbee, a junior here at WHS. She died on Monday, February 14th after having been admitted to the hospital for influenza in January and developing other medical conditions in the meantime. Students are being notified Tuesday morning in their individual classes about this death. The link below contains handouts to assist our students, parents, and part faculty in dealing with their sense of loss. https://5il.co/ax11 Counselors are available for students at school on Tuesday. We are also supported by local mental health professionals and can provide you with referrals as needed. As the school community continues to cope with the loss of Linnea, we invite your participation in the healing process. Please feel free to contact the school at any time with questions or concerns."
