Gaylord community mourning loss of 13-year-old boy

OTSEGO COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A northern Michigan community is mourning the loss of a 13-year-old boy.
Nick Mazur of Gaylord passed away unexpectedly while on vacation with his family in Mexico this week.
Loved ones describe Nick as the kid you want your kid to hang around.
“He was caring about his teammates, caring about his team, caring about people and wanted to make things better,” Nick's Baseball Coach Greg Jones said. “He was one of those kids that just wanted to be excellent in everything he did, and he was. He impacted my life by far more than I impacted his.”
E-Free Church in Gaylord will be celebrating Nick’s life on April 1 and 2.
Gaylord Community Schools has counseling services available for students
